checking out that link and the gel-based ant farm (pretty useless I think). I was just in S. America and at someone's house they had a similar substance in a pot with a leaf in it. They told me that gel was a substitute for the dirt/water, to help the root grow. hmm. so it seems all I needed was ants and a light?
I've had a horrible experience with my Antworks Space-Age Habitat.
I have gone through a four-month ordeal of dead ants, disgusting mould and mildew, and appalling customer service.
